I also have blisters/rubbed off skin on both of my arches due to my KSOs (both walking and running). i originally bought 2 sizes and sent the smaller size back because they were killing my big toes. i have long narrow feet; my KSOs fit snugly in the toes, but are a little baggy through the middle. i have found that if i pull the tab very tightly it reduces the pain in my feet, but also starts to cut off the circulation, which is not what i want. does duct tape really work? oh, and it is definitely the seam on the inside that rubs my foot- wearing the toe socks solves the problem completely. any other suggestions on how to fix the seam?

I put a very thin piece of duct tape over the seam in the shoe. (as opposed to trying to stick the duct tape to my foot which I also tried, but it came loose after I started sweating)  I was planning on removing the duct tape after my foot healed.

My foot has been healed for over a week, but the duct tape seems to still be stuck in place rather well and does not shift around at all.  It does not seem to be causing any problems, so I have left it in there and I have not had any issues with it or blisters at all.

Certainly an effective and low cost solution. (if you already have the duct tape - and everyone really should have some....  Grin )

Yup.  As I said, this works well with moleskin, too.  Also electrical tape.  Just be sure that what you're sticking it to doesn't have any dust or dirt on it.

Have had my KSOs (lilac/grey) for five days. Wore them around the house a bit then went for a 3 mile run yesterday in them.

My right foot measured at 9 1/16 and my left 9 1/8 so I went for the 37 (a size down for the KSOs).

All was well most of the way through the run. Both feet got wet but I got this blister on the arch of my right foot  Sad

The VFF on the right foot started to feel loose. I tightened it up but it didn't stop the rubbing. This didn't happen at all with the left foot and I was wondering whether it was the size difference between my feet.

Anyone else experiencing this?

But in geenral it seems like people's VFFs don't fit after 6-12 months because they're feet either shrink or grow.

Do you find this at all related to arch height?

i.e.:
low arches to start - foot shrinks as arch raises,
High arches to start - Foot lenghens as arch lowers
Med arches to start - no real change in foot size.

Kind of like a bell curve based on a medium size arch - the futher from the median, the more your foot size changes....

Just wondering if there is any way to predict what your foot will end up doing (growing or shrinking) so you have some idea of if you should error on the side of a little to snug or a little to large when you first purchase your VFF's.  (I will soon have 3 pair and it would really stink if they did not fit this time next year - let alone this fall)

That's a good assumption. My feet were flat and with my VFFs I gained arches, which I think shortened my foot. I need to find my ruler. My w39 black classics were feeling a bit loose lately and that could be because of my feet shrinking or my classics loosening up. I got a blister on my foot and that used to happen with my too big KSOs. I guess it's time to get my feet refitted. :-(
