One Foot in Front of the Other...Launching a new business can be kind of like running a race. You have your plans set up, everything is in place...and then sometimes stuff just happens. The roads were rougher than you had planned on and there were factors you didn't anticipate. So what do you do? Like any good runner would, at Skora we stepped back and re-assessed our plans and strategy. So although we had initially planned a Fall 2010 launch, the road of product development proved to be a little bit more of an 'uphill' than we had initially expected.
So What's the Deal?
In this newsletter we want to share our latest news, plans and expectations, a sort 'shoe training log'. Although we did have to delay our launch, we are anticipating our shoes to be available in late 2011. The excitement and interest from US and international running stores has been unprecedented. No one's seen anything like our shoes before and they believe and are excited by our passion, perspective and enthusiasm. The running world is ready for Skora.
Itchy Feet (the good kind)
This summer we will complete production and have the amazing tester prototypes ready and waiting for those anxious feet. Speaking of anxious feet, well, we've got those too! We have an incredible vision of where Skora can go and what it can mean to the running community if we've got the right backing. We're seeking investors who are excited and invigorated by the possibility of doing something totally new, totally awesome and absolutely possible. If you're interested in partnering with us or know someone who is, drop us a line. We're all ears (or feet) and ready to make Skora the best it can possibly be.
Skora is more than just a new kind of minimal running shoe. Skora is about a brand new perspective on training, business, running and life that will alter how runners and retailers look at their feet and their lives.
Our Mental Game
At Skora our philosphy is to design bio-mechanically sound footwear created with highest quality materials; resulting in minimal shoes that look just as awesome as they feel. We've got a couple of initial models lined up that focus on the road runner. The first model is lace-free, streamlined, sleek and functional utilizing a slip-on design and z-shaped strap. The second model is an ingenious combination of asymmetrical lace design and incredible natural leathers, making form and function equal partners in a fantastic minimalist shoe.
So, that's where we're at and where we hope to go.
