Jumping over trees and creeks is half the fun. I really need to get back to Turkey Run State Park in Indiana. It has some great running trails. Humans were not born to be road runners. Give me that sweet freedom of the trails!

Agreed. I consider it one of the best training runs I've ever had, and it was tougher that most races I've done! Loads of fun.

Here's my data on The Great Aloha Run. Fun race if you don't mind a few people around. There were over 17,500 participants. Crazy! The race was 8.1 miles from the Aloha Tower to the Aloha Stadium, and I did it in just under 1:04. I even ran into another VFFer, Roo. She and her black KSOs finished in under her goal of 1:15 beating out 88% of the shod competition. Definitely a must do if you are ever in Oahu during February. My mom, sister and aunt did it too. My mom said she saw three sets of VFFs. I wonder if you were one of them!

At the beginning of the race I was hanging out with one VFFer that I came across. Perhaps your mom caught sight of both of us. I'm sure that with over 17,500 there were a few others among us. Hope they had as much fun at the race as I did. It was a great experience.

Well, not a run, but went for a great walk with my wife last night at a local forest preserve... Not very fast walking, but lots of ups and downs as we went on the different trails. (we had never been on those trails before so were not really sure what we were getting ourselves into) Awesome temps and went and had a great dinner afterwards.... A really enjoyable evening. On a side note - I am really enjoying the smartrunner program for my smartphone. (that is what is providing the GPS track)

This isn’t a run, it’s me mowing the yard. I push mow my yard because I like the extra activity it gives me. I had guessed it at 2 miles, so I wasn’t that far off. I have a pretty good hill in the back yard. That’s why you see my heart rate going up and down. That’s me going up and down the hill, LOL. It’s funny I’m finding new stupid and amusing ways to use my Garmin GPS. I love gadgets.
